Carrick on Shannon RFC 36
Claremorris RFC 29
Carrick-on-Shannon’s Under 13 Boys team welcomed Claremorris to Carrick on Saturday.
Played in perfect conditions this was a true squad effort, with all available players on the day making an impact. While Carrick again got off to a sluggish start, they started to get into the game midway through the first half to lead 19 – 10 at the break. A storming start to the second half with excellent direct carrying saw Carrick race into a 31 – 10 lead. Claremorris never gave up the fight, battled hard and responded with 2 well worked converted tries of their own. Carrick were that little bit more committed at the breakdown which was arguably the difference on the day with the home side winning by 36 -29.
Carrick look forward to their next game next Sunday at home against Castlebar RFC.
