25 U13 Carrick players made the trip down to our neighbours Creggs RFC for their first U13 league match. Weather conditions were excellent and matched the facilities at Creggs RFC with the teams taking to the all weather pitch to do battle. The Carrick lads hit the ground running with good support play which led to a fantastic break away run to score in the corner. More Carrick dominance over the next few minutes with strong carries and ball retention led to another try in the opposite corner. Creggs reemerged in the second half with new determination. Some strong carries and hard work saw them go over the carrick line under the posts. A nervous few minutes for Carrick as Creggs continued to press, but some resolute Carrick defence saw them weather the onslaught. The Carrick lads pushed hard in attack and scored 3 more converted tries. A great start by this group of lads, lessons learned and work ons identified. Massive thanks to Creggs for an extremely sportsmanlike match and excellent hospitality after match. We look forward to welcoming them to Castlecara later in the league.
