I want to wish Carrick-on-Shannon Rugby Football Club all the best on the occasion of their 50th Anniversary. 49 years ago in 1976 Jim Newcombe, Michael Dee (RIP) and fellow members kindly allowed the local Soccer Club Carrick Town F.C. to use the Showgrounds on the Boyle Road as a playing and training pitch. It was a great gesture never forgotten. The local Rugby Club now have a grounds to be immensely proud of on the Castlelcara Road. Very well done to Stephen and everyone involved.
