6 Years at 6 Nations, in association with Murtaghs Bar, has a fabulous grand prize of 2 tickets to every home Irish 6 Nations game for the next 6 years (2026 – 2031). This equates to 30 much sought after 6 Nations tickets guaranteed for the 6 year period. The fundraiser is to support the much needed upgrade of facilities at the club which has enjoyed enormous growth over recent years.
The club itself is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but having gone through a number of barren years in the late 80s and early 90s it was reformed in 2005 and for more than 10 years has been based at its current home on the outskirts of the town at Castlecara Road. With over 450 members and more than 40 volunteer coaches the club continues to go from strength to strength.
A vibrant Minis group with kids from U7 through U12 is fuelling the clubs’ future where the emphasis is firmly on fun, participation and helping each child become the best they can be. Last years’ Minis Summer camp run entirely by club volunteers was the largest in Connacht with 170 children participating over 3 days. The club has a senior men’s team, and representative teams at all boy’s youth age groups, U12 through to U18 girls teams while they also recently ran a hugely successful Inclusive Rugby program. The club also picked up the ‘Club of the Year’ award at the Leitrim Sports Awards in the Landmark Hotel recently.
There was a large attendance of club members and supporters at the launch including Cllr Maeve Reynolds. Connacht Rugby CEO Willie Ruane also spoke on the night and lauded the success of the club in recent years which hadn’t gone unnoticed by the wider Connacht Rugby community where the club were now a real force across all grades.
Tickets for 6 Years at 6 Nations are now on sale and are priced at €50 each and available via the the link below or through any of the club committee members.
